About Me

Hello, I’m Charlie Green, a recent Games Technology graduate from the University of Portsmouth with a strong interest in gameplay systems and Game AI. I enjoy developing the systems that power player and NPC interactions, with a particular focus on pathfinding, procedural generation, state machines, and gameplay logic.

My interest in programming began around eight years ago when I first started learning Python during secondary school. Since then, I have continued developing my technical skills through formal education, independent learning, and personal projects. I completed a two-year T-Level in Digital Design before specialising further through my Games Technology degree, where I gained practical experience designing and developing gameplay systems and tools.

I am most experienced with C# and have primarily worked within Unity, while also developing experience with Unreal Engine 5 and Blueprints through university projects. Alongside game development, I also have experience with Python, C++, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JSON, and Astro.

Throughout my studies and personal work, I have developed a strong understanding of collaborative development workflows and industry-standard tools, including GitHub, Perforce, Visual Studio, IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, Jira, and Confluence.

In addition to university work, I regularly work on personal projects and game modifications to expand my technical knowledge and experiment with new systems. Current projects include *Funeral Director*, where I am refining NPC pathfinding and gameplay interactions, and a procedural dungeon-generation project focused on creating scalable and replayable environments. These projects have helped strengthen my problem-solving skills, debugging workflow, and ability to iterate on gameplay systems.

I also completed work experience at [Two Point Studios](https://www.twopointstudios.com?utm_source=chatgpt.com), where I gained insight into professional development practices within the games industry and further developed my experience using Unity in a studio environment.

Outside of development, I enjoy sandbox and simulation games such as Minecraft, Terraria, and Stardew Valley, alongside creative writing and world-building projects focused on fantasy and science fiction settings.

I am currently seeking graduate opportunities in gameplay programming, Game AI, or software engineering where I can continue developing my technical skills while contributing to meaningful and engaging projects.
